“Fantastic story steeped in history.”
Wonderful book. Easy to imagine the time and place and cultures. The love element is just right not going to fast but burning along with the plot. Have read the first three in series and cannot put them down. I will be downloading the next as soon as l summit my review . Got to admit l love a strong women. Some one who can hold her own in any situation and these books certainly give us that, brilliant.

“An outstanding story!”
This writer did her historical homework on many pages except the plaid (sigh, 16th century) and sporran which did not come into use until 1823 but blame Hollywood and Braveheart for that continually repeated repeated fallacy. It is the rare, brave writer who puts medieval Scotsmen in their proper clothes of knee length tunics because that’s not as sexy as a hunk in a plaid, eh?

What an incredible book! This story has betrayal, lots of action, intrigue, and lots more. Loved Arbela's character. She is a true warrior. She is intelligent, beautiful, and headstrong. Although she is a hardened warrior, she is also a loving person. She agrees to a marriage, in name only, so she can continue to dress and live like a warrior. Camden, the chief of an impoverished clan, agrees to marry her because his clan needed her dowry to survive...
